The Opportunity

As Ideaspring Capital, a venture - capital fund in Bangalore was ready to introduce their deck to potential investors for their second fund, they approached me to create their detailed presentation to be circulated amongst investors.

This presentation was meant to be eye-catching, and informative at the same time. It would need to convey the data collected from the companies in the first deck in a simple manner to ease the reading process of the investors.

Narrative

Introducing the team

To start the presentation, I decided to represent the true DNA of the team, and their values towards the start-up community. This would allow investors to understand the people they would be working with better.

Deal Flow Chart

The details of the first fund were presented starting with a deal flow chart, explaining the number of companies they spoke to, and how they narrowed down to the few companies that they finally invested in. This explains the meticulous process of finding good start-ups that Ideaspring follows, and shows the quality of the company's choices.

Past Performance Timeline

Next, the timeline of the first fund was represented graphically, to indicate the progression of the company. This would help the potential investors learn about the turn-over and overall time taken to get the companies to the stage they are in today.

Case Studies

Several case studies of companies from the Fund 1 deck were done, with the timeline of events as well, to show individual company progression, along with the involvement of Ideaspring Capital.

Upcoming Fund Intentions

This followed with the indication of what was to come in the second fund. To do this, I created a graphic indicating the existing technology and sectors Ideaspring Capital had invested in, along with those that they were looking to invest in in the Second Fund.

The graphic was inspired by the honeycomb pattern, and how they would grow their deck by investing in these new sectors and technology.

Predictions

To end the presentation, a technology - sector matrix was made to show the current trends in the start-up market, and indicate which technology and sector looked like a good market to invest in. This, along with the previous graphic shows how Ideaspring is looking at the right markets and the right time to invest in certain companies.

Style Guide

Contrary to their first presentation, the idea was to create colorful graphics using the brand colours from their logo, while creating a narrative about how they started the first fund to where they are now, and where they are planning to go in the future.
